Walk through a simple layout for your chart of accounts that allows you to really understand where you are making or not making money in your business. Clarify variable vs fixed expenses and their impact on the business. A clear P&L tells you the story of your business to anyone else about how you make a profit. Stop building your COA based on your tax returns, or whatever invoices or payments come in. COA is a TOOL to understanding your business. It’s your planting plan. Building a Budget from Scratch, in 60 minutes or less.

In today’s 1 hour webinar we’ll address building your annual budget by walking through the nuts and bolts of a budgeting template. We will talk about how to get started, using your chart of accounts as a template – along with chart of account best practices – and take the methodical approach to sales forecasting. Ultimately, we will build a flexible budgeting tool that you can use year after year. Our template uses sensitivity analysis, which allows us to play out various “what if” scenarios for our businesses in just a few seconds by changing one cell in your excel based budget.
