Clarify variable vs fixed expenses and their impact on the business. A clear P&L tells you the story of your business to anyone else about how you make a profit. Stop building your COA based on your tax returns, or whatever invoices or payments come in. COA is a TOOL to understanding your business. It’s your planting plan. Think of your bank account like your fields.

Building a Budget from Scratch, in 60 minutes or less.

In today’s 1 hour webinar we’ll address building your annual budget by walking through the nuts and bolts of a budgeting template. We will talk about how to get started, using your chart of accounts as a template – along with chart of account best practices – and take the methodical approach to sales forecasting. Ultimately, we will build a flexible budgeting tool that you can use year after year. Our template uses sensitivity analysis, which allows us to play out various “what if” scenarios for our businesses in just a few seconds by changing one cell in your excel based budget.
